Google is coming up with a new feature known as ‘AMP for Email’, which will help developers make emails more interactive and engaging. Google wants to bring the capabilities of Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) to the email platforms to make inbox a more user-friendly place for the users.
The big brands like Booking, Pinterest, and Doodle have already started their development to build features with this new AMP feature of Google to improve their capabilities. Actually, AMP for Email is an open source platform which allows developers to play around its features and improve as per their requirements and advantages.
As per Google, you will be able to browse websites within your email without leaving your inbox. Additionally, you will be able to interact with your email content in a more engaging way like by setting events, filling forms, etc.
For example, if you receive an email from Pinterest with images in it, then you would be able to interact (and browse) with those images in the same manner as you would do on the official website, without leaving your email inbox.
Google will be adding AMP support for Gmail by later this year. Google is also planning to add AMP stories for Google search, in the same context to Snapchat stories.
